Born in Ploiești, the town of such famous writers as Nichita Stănescu, I. L. Caragiale or Geo Bogza, in an industrial neighbourhood on the outskirts bordering on an oil tank field and oil loading platforms, she graduated from the “Mihai Viteazul” College of Ploiești and later on completed a course in Business Administration at the Open University Business School UK, being awarded a professional diploma in management.
She worked at the Ministry of National Defence for eight years and with the International News Agency Reuters, the Bucharest Bureau, for 10 years. In 2002, she set up her own import-export business being its General Manager to date.
Launch The Threshold I
Her first fantasy novel “Pragul”/ ”The Threshold”, brought out in 2014 by the “Tracus Arte” Publishing House, was awarded the 2015 Romcon prize for best debut novel. It was followed by “Maestrul și jumătate lebădă”/ “The Master and Half Swan”, the “Agol” Publishing House, a volume of poetry co-authored with poet Gabriel Gherbăluță.

the second volume of “Pragul”, namely “Umbra martor”/“The Witness Shadow”, the “Tracus Arte” Publishing House, and a contribution to the “CarTe diem” anthology of contemporary poetry put out by the “Vocativ” Publishing House.
The Threshold III
This year, in June, the “Tracus Arte” Publishing House launched the third volume of Doina Roman’s “Pragul”, “Ultimul Trimis Oserp”/ “The Last Oserp Envoy”, at the Bookfest book fair.
The “Pragul” trilogy enjoys appeal among journalists, bloggers, literary critics and especially readers. The trilogy can be found in large online bookstores such as “E- Mag”, “Libris” or “Amazon”, as well as in offline bookstore chains such as “Humanitas” and “Cartureşti”.
